Virtual Reality

Virtual reality is on an up rise. With technology improving and involving, we are only scratching the surface of virtual reality. For those that do not know virtual reality or VR for short, is a headset you wear that generates physical environments, sounds, and other sensations as if you are there in actual time. Many people think that VR is just for gaming or entertainment but that isn’t true, there are many professions using VR to grasp many aspects such as the military, courtrooms, museums, and even in health care. With VR you get a more real-life experience and understanding then just looking 2D objects or videos. This has been only the beginning of virtual reality and the system isn’t even 100% yet and is being used in various ways in different professions and activities. Just think of the possibilities once it reaches the climax.

One thing I found is that they are now starting to use them in sports for practice and training. The NFL is one of the professional sports that have started using VR. With football having such a high injury rate they want ways to keep their players safe so taking out the collisions at practice with save them for the games. Putting them in virtual reality headset they can see everything they would see on the field and can even break down the game play having see things they might have missed. This is very beneficial for quarterback because it keeps them out of harm way and they may pick up more things because it can be paused and rewind. In the article, This virtual reality startup is training NFL quarterbacks to be the next Tom Brady, they have a great video demonstrating how  it is being used and some of the teams that have picked this strategy up.
